LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles County Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD) is inviting eligible community-based organizations to apply for the fifth round of Care First Community Investment (CFCI) Care Grants.

Approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, the latest funding round covers 30 program areas across five CFCI strategies:

Diversion, Behavioral Health and Wellness;
Economic Opportunity and Sustainability;
Education Access and Youth Development;
Housing Stability; and
Reentry and Community Reintegration.

The CFCI Year 5 Care Grants will be administered by Amity Foundation and three additional third-party administrators: Community Partners, Heluna Health and United Way LA.

Interested organizations should review the eligibility requirements, complete the application and submit all required materials through the CFCI Year 5 Care Grants application portal.

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on August 24, 2026, to be considered.

CFCI was established by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and placed under JCOD’s stewardship in November 2022. The initiative invests in community-based services and expands access to essential resources throughout the County.

The program followed the passage of Measure J in 2020, which requires the County to allocate 10% of its locally generated, unrestricted revenue to community investment and alternatives to traditional justice-system responses.

Since its launch, LA County CFCI Care Grants have awarded more than $350 million to community-based organizations serving residents across all five supervisorial districts.
