COSTA MESA — Nearly 200 high school students from across Orange County will gather Thursday, July 30, for the OC Pathways Student Leadership Summit, where they will meet engineers, entrepreneurs and innovators working in aerospace, advanced aviation, sustainability and emerging technology.

Industry speakers will represent Blue Origin, Joby Aviation, Conservation X Labs, Clean Earth Rovers and NASA-affiliated Open Science initiatives.

Selected through the OC Pathways Student Ambassador Program, participants represent high schools throughout Orange County. The program gives students opportunities to explore high-demand careers, build professional networks and prepare for the future workforce.

The summit will also launch the OC Pathways Impact Project, a yearlong initiative challenging student ambassadors to develop innovative solutions addressing real-world needs in their schools and communities.

Activities will include:

An interactive Sphero robotics team challenge;
Hands-on innovation and design-thinking workshops;
A panel featuring engineers and technology innovators;
Collaborative planning for the OC Pathways Impact Project; and
Career networking and interview opportunities.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Orange County Department of Education Conference Center, 200 Kalmus Drive, Costa Mesa.
